Its no secret that I absolutely hate this heat! De Its no secret that I absolutely hate this heat! Despite the hot weather we had an amazing day celebrating one of the little ones 2nd Birthday.

I usually make cinemon and banana muffins, and prepare a birthday lunch but it was so hot I was not putting the oven on to bake them, so this morning sorted out a last minute shop to get in some party foods.

We started out morning in the garden with some water play followed by the balloons play along with some birthday party music.

The balloons ball out was amazing. The children loved this so much. Dancing was a success, some of the children were dancing with their friends.

We are now enjoying a calm afternoon with the balloons.

I also want to add, out of 36 balloons we still have 36 balloons! The children have not popped any. This is the first time in the 8 years of childminding I've not been hunting the room for stray bits of balloon when you hear that bang!

We still have 2 hours to go it wouldn't surprise me if one went bang!

Then after the mess one of the children said, "Caroline we need some books so we can pick up the rice, there is so much on the floor" so we got some books to push the rice into one place.

Today a child arrived with bubbles for us to play with so we combined the music and bubbles. We had such a fun morning, it was suddenly lunch time and we had not stopped!
